Summer in Špindlerův Mlýn

The best holiday - stay cool in the mountains in summer

Špindlerův Mlýn is a popular tourist destination. Everyone can plan a holiday to their liking here, whether you are a passionate skier, mushroom picker, cyclist, hiker, or an adrenaline junkie, and whether you are five or fifty years old. Špindlerův Mlýn has something for everyone. Fun, adrenaline adventures await you on the climbing wall, in Aquapark, during quad-bike rides, or at bowling.

In summer, you can explore various hiking and biking trails. It's only up to you just how much exercise you are looking for. The Miller's walking trails are easy, but educational and fun and you can collect stamps for the stamp game “Pohádkové Krkonoše” (The Fairy Tale Giant Mountains). The Miller's educational trail focuses on the history of Špindlerův Mlýn. The Miller's circuit will take you deeper into the Giant Mountains nature and will teach you more about it. The last circuit is called the Miller's hike and is suitable for mums with children, but we recommend a sports buggy. The path will take you to some of the famous attractions in Špindlerův Mlýn, including the adrenaline park, the bobsled run and Monkey park.

A little bit of walking can't hurt

Do you really want to earn your dinner in our hotel restaurant? There's nothing easier than taking a walk in our beautiful mountains. Walk along the paths in the Svatý Petr valley, around Bedřichov or to the Elbe Mine, where you'll see the Elbe waterfall and you can visit an adrenaline park there, too.

The paths are suitable for less proficient hikers and are accessible even in the winter. More demanding hikers should try tourist trails and ridge trails. The most popular ones are towards Špindlerův Mlýn – Dlouhý důl – Sněžka or the journey from Špindlerův Mlýn to Mísečky.

Pedal away

Do you prefer cycle trips? Electric bikes have become a popular attraction, as they can take even hobby cyclists to the top. An e-bike or scooter can be rented in a rental shop in Špindlerův Mlýn. Take a bike to see the Spring of the Elbe and visit the Strážné Valley or the White Elbe Valley. Experience new adventures on the way and get refreshments in the lodges and restaurants along the way, while enjoying the beautiful panorama of the Giant Mountains.

Places to see

Whether you decide to go on a trip by car, cable car, bike or on foot, there are places in Špindlerův Mlýn that you simply must see. Without them, Špindlerův Mlýn wouldn't be the same. These places include Sněžka. Have you been to the top? And have you started the climb in Špindlerův Mlýn?

Another popular sight is the Spring of the Elbe. The place is impressive for its stone wall with 26 colourful symbols of the important towns and cities that the Elbe flows through. Besides the actual spring, you'll see several waterfalls. The Elbe waterfall reaches 35m. The Pančavský waterfall is more interesting, as it offers a beautiful view of a 148m high cascade. Enjoy the best view from the viewpoint by the waterfall or from the Ambrož viewpoint. You should also visit the best-known lodges and mountain huts in the vicinity – the Vrbata's and the Elbe Lodge and the Moravian mountain hut.

Winter in Špindlerův Mlýn

Winter must be the most beautiful season in Špindlerův Mlýn. The skiing centre Skiareál Špindlerův Mlýn provides its visitors with high-quality services and well-maintained ski slopes of different levels of difficulty with the total length of 25km. Even cross-country skiers will find what they are looking for there, enjoying the beauty of Špindlerův Mlýn from cross-country ski trails that are 85km long. The ski lift Hromovka is located only 2 minutes from Hotel Hradec.

If you get tired of skiing, try the sledging trail, let your tired body relax in our hotel wellness centre or in Aquapark, go skating or ride a snowmobile.

Skiing for everyone

One of the best things about Skiareál is its variety of ski slopes. More experienced skiers and snowboarders can enjoy a ride down the Svatý Petr skislope with a snowpark and a half-pipe.

A more competitive ride can be enjoyed in Medvědín. Horní Mísečky invite freestyle skiers and cross-country skiing enthusiasts to the perfectly serviced trails. Hromovka is known for its night skiing. Labská is suitable for families.

Adrenaline in the mountains

Exciting moments full of adrenaline can be experienced on your snowboard in the popular snowparks Svatý Petr, Hromovka and Horní Mísečky. If you are craving a different kind of excitement, go ski touring. Ski touring has become very popular over the last few years, bringing unexpected experiences and allowing you to get to know the mountains from less accessible trails even during the winter. Ski touring skis are popular for the freedom they give you, as they enable you to climb up the mountain, then slide down and enjoy jumps, too. However, you shouldn't forget that ski touring requires you to have obligatory avalanche safety equipment.

Learn to ski

You don't really want to stay in Špindlerův Mlýn just because you cannot ski? Change that and stop missing wonderful experiences! In Špindlerův Mlýn, you can find ski schools for both children and adults, and even for experienced skiers who want to improve their technique and learn a few new tricks.

Qualified ski instructors will also teach you cross-country skiing and ski touring. The most popular ski schools are Ski School Yellow Point or SKOL MAX Ski School. Every ski school has its own ski, snowboard and ski equipment rental.
